Overview

We want you to be satisfied with your credit purchases. This policy outlines when and how refunds are processed for Syntact credit purchases.

Refund Eligibility

Eligible for Refund

  • Unused credits within 14 days of purchase
  • Service outage that prevented you from using purchased credits for an extended period
  • Duplicate charges resulting from payment processing errors
  • Unauthorized purchases made without your consent (please also contact your bank)

Not Eligible for Refund

  • Partially or fully used credits (only the unused portion may be refundable)
  • Purchases older than 14 days unless due to service issues
  • Credits lost to account termination for Terms of Service violations
  • Dissatisfaction with AI model output quality (model selection is at your discretion)
  • Expired credits (credits that passed the 12-month expiration window)

Refund Process

    Contact support

    Reach out to our support team with your account email and the transaction you would like refunded.

    Review

    We will review your request and verify the purchase and credit usage history. This typically takes 1-3 business days.

    Refund issued

    Approved refunds are processed through Stripe to your original payment method. Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

Refund Amount

Refunds are calculated based on the unused credit balance at the time of the refund request. Processing fees (Stripe fees, platform fees) are non-refundable as they are incurred at the time of the original purchase and cannot be reversed.

Credit Expiration

Credits expire 12 months after the date of purchase. This policy aligns with our upstream API provider's (OpenRouter) credit expiration terms.

  • You will be notified by email at least 30 days before credits expire
  • Expired credits are permanently removed from your balance
  • Expired credits are not eligible for refund
  • New purchases reset the 12-month clock for the newly purchased credits only; existing credits retain their original expiration date

Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback through your bank instead of contacting us for a refund, we reserve the right to suspend your account until the dispute is resolved. We encourage you to contact our support team first, as we can typically resolve issues faster than the chargeback process.
